A Touchy Subject - POEM

A touchy subject...

Homosexuality and the entire LGBT concept.

You're either part of the LGBT community yourself, which I am not, just putting that out there

Or

You're on the fence, if someone

likes the same gender

It makes no difference to you

Or

You're a 'flaming'

homophobic

Now, whichever

Way you look at it

Whichever way

You choose to

Look at it

It's your decision

But think on this

A passing thought

Gay people

Cannot reproduce

They know that

as do we,

as do all

But yet,

Some of them want

To do it anyway

To me, that's something

Commendable

They could easily say,

"Screw straight people,

I'm going to carry on

with my life,

Which is just as

Insignificant

In the grand scheme of

Things, as

Your average

God-fearing

Stereo-typical

Family

But

They're actually

Helping out

Maybe humanity

Won't need to be culled

Again

As it's happened

So many times,

In history

his..story

Or even

Herstory

her...story

It's maybe not be right

In everyone's eyes

Anyone's eyes

Who thinks they

Have the right

To cast judgement

Over others

That don't live

The way they do

There's a lot

That's wrong

Dismally so

In this world

This fancy, high tech

World

And people get snuffed

For living their lives

The way they do

I just have a feeling

A notion

Take it or leave it

Take to heart

These words, or

Don't

Because, wait for it

It's up to you;

Maybe

We should all try

And focus

On what's good

Maybe there won't be

So much gloomy

Morbid crap

To write about

To talk about

Maybe there'll be

Nice things

Uplifting things

To pour our efforts

Our  thoughts

And our words

Into

For years to come

Instead of

Years we lament

About

A touchy subject

But maybe

One to think about
